Fun Facts:
Q. If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
A. Something that describes me in one word would be the Ouroborus. This is the ancient symbol of a snake eating its own tail symbolizing re-birth, re-invention, and cyclicality. Not only is my Chinese astrological symbol a snake, I feel like the idea of re-invention has been a constant in my life. From growing up in a tiny midwestern town of 6,000 people , to moving to a few major cities (Boston, New York, Taipei, San Francisco), I have had many different jobs, adventures, and chapters in my life that have required and allowed me to exploring different personal identities. That and I have always like taking on new challenges and experiences. In terms of cyclicality, my first job out of college was working with students. After exploring a number of different career paths over the years, (paralegal, law student, barista, tv commercial actor to name a few) I’m back where I started: working with students that continue to amaze and energize me.
Q. What’s your hidden talent?
A. As a big fan of rap and hip hop culture, I was a serious bboy for a few years. If you can beat box, I just might bust out a windmill for you.
